Then pick up that pen and, as you write out your New Year’s Resolution, I dare you to aim higher:

Be the HERO.

Write. Rewrite. Refine. Redefine your own story!

Because this is our one shot at life.

And we only get to write our story ONCE.

That’s why I’m meeting 2024 with the brazen swagger of someone who knows she’s about to embark in a heroic journey that’s not limited to a single, solitary New Year’s Resolution. No. I’m busting out, guns blazing, ready to proclaim to the world that this is bigger than that. I’m aiming higher. Today is the 1st day of the rest of my life!

And I fully intend to live it with more PURPOSE and PASSION than I’ve ever dared to do before.

I want to change for the better. And I know with 100% certainty that I CAN — not because I’ve got some strange boundless optimism or a fearless spirit (Ha! Wouldn’t that be nice?) — but because I’ve created a practice — the VICTUS Method — that’s transformed MY MIND and freed me to become the HERO of my own story, to once and for all, TRUST myself! To not be afraid of life’s hardships anymore. To become the life-long Learner I can now feel safe to be.

And what has my story taught me thus far? That the MORE TRUST I’ve given to myself on this journey, the more I have made specific, measurable GAINS in every area of my life (family, career, creativity, finances, physical and mental health) — not once, but in every season of my life, in every facet of my being. I’m closer than I’ve ever been to achieving synergy in all aspects of my Self.

Wow. That probably sounds like a lot to you. You may even think I’m just full of it. And I don’t blame you. It is a lot. But, if what I’ve got to share helps you even a tenth of the way it’s helped me, I’m willing to risk looking foolish. Why? Because I’m confident; I know how much the VICTUS Method has changed me. Not in some intangible, mystical, woo-woo sort of way. But for real.

Practically.

It means being able to pivot and shift and adopt entirely new ways of being — from being an Attorney to being an Author to being an Artist, to being a Type-A goal getter, an achiever who also knows how to remain centered and calm. Serene in myself, content, yet ready to vault ahead, knowing there’s much more to learn and discover. There’s so much still I have yet to become, but I’m not in a rush. I can do it in time. Time is the gift I give to myself. And here’s the critical part: I can achieve my goals while still protecting my Peace! Doing it while loving myself! While healing the most damaged parts of me!

So why not go on my merry way and just ride into the sunset and live my best life? Why write about it? Why be willing to share all the ups and downs of my own journey, and share it so publicly?

Because I’m not interested in hoarding this goodness, this freedom, this path out of the woods. I want more than anything to share what I’ve learned (and am still learning) with a giving spirit, because I know all too well what it’s like to suffer in silence. And if I can help other people, it will be worth it.

So what are you waiting for?

Does it sound impossible to you? It may. But, I’m confident, still. Why? How? Because…for YEARS, I had the most incessant hyper-critical inner critic, and that monster is GONE. Not just a little gone. Completely gone. Silenced.

Does that mean I never have a bad day or think a bad thought? No. That’s impossible because I’m HUMAN.

Bad emotions may still come. But they come and they go, as quickly as they came.

Was it easy? Hell no.

But, life’s prepared me for it. I’ve been through many trials and tribulations. Big T Trauma and a panoply of little t traumas, too. But, even though I have a sensitive soul, I’ve always been a fighter. And as an Attorney, I’ve advocated, fought and won, for my clients. Why not turn that legal warrior inward? Why not fight for MYSELF, for my own sense of inner peace? I did. I took on my inner critic; I advocated for my Self; I talked it down; I ripped the pen out of its hands.

It worked.

And I’ve experienced so much PEACE from it. It brings me to tears to think of how much my life has changed. It’s nothing short of miraculous to me. To have the silence to think and explore and be creative in ways I’ve never felt free to be in the past. And it’s all because I jumped in the trenches, eyes wide open, and tested the BEST ways for me to utilize my mind, to tap into the power of neuroplasticity!

Trust me, YOU can do it too.

But you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here. And I’ve lived through so much. I can help you. You just have to be willing to take my hand, and we can win this together.

I’m writing my own story now.
